So here’s where I disappeared to the past week – READING! (In between work and field trips.) I’m just doing quick reviews as I’m just waiting for a file conversion and really want to sleep already. @_@

Book 1: ALLEGIANT (Divergent #3) by Veronica Roth
I have no words. I’m sorry. This book sort of broke my heart. Out of all the dystopian trilogies I have read so far (Delirium, The Hunger Games, Uglies, The Trylle Series, The Girl of Fire and Thorns, etc. etc.), I think this was the one that got me to opening the next book immediately. As in literally the minute I closed its final chapter, I just had to read the next one so that I don’t dwell on the conclusion. Mind you, it was great. I’m now a huge fan. I love Four and Tris and I can’t wait to see them on the big screen soon. On a side note, I honestly wouldn’t know which faction to choose if I were in the story. Toss coin maybe? But overall, I loved the brilliant way that Veronica Roth wrapped up her trilogy. It was unexpected yet after she explained everything in an interview (Google if you’re interested), I totally got it. The best line for me?
“They’ll care for each other,” she says, “That’s what people do.” a line said by Tris’s mom to her.
Book 2: DON’T TELL THE GROOM by Anna Bell
This was the first time I was able to read a book by Anna Bell and I loved it! I read this one in the span of a few hours overnight on a whim. I was trying to fall asleep yet once I started, I couldn’t put the book down. The book tells the tale of how Penny managed to gamble away the wedding fund that she and her fiance, Mark, had been saving for years in the hopes of getting her dream princess wedding through online bingo. As the story progresses, it turns out that she didn’t really need that princess wedding or that 10,000 money difference from the 5,000 budget she had to endure. What’s that song again I came to know about from Glee? Ahhh, something something, “You get what you need.” And at the end of the day, all we really need may not even cost a single cent. I’ll tell you a secret, I was crying as I was wrapping up this book. Haha.
Book 3: LUCKY NUMBER FOUR by Amanda Jason
I almost didn’t continue reading this as I found it slightly weird to be reading about the adventures of Dora. But the heroine’s name was Pandora really and not simply Dora as the Explorer. Anyway, this was a fun and light read for me. There were some inconsistencies in continuity, particularly in the names of the lead’s family that got me confused for a bit but of course I trudged on. The premise was too good to be true that I almost had to give up and chalk it up as another cliché. Imagine suddenly finding yourself roommates with 3 of the most gorgeous male supermodels in the world. On top of that, one of them fall in love with you! Whew. My imagination couldn’t take it but I read on and managed to stop reading halfway only to continue the morning after. I liked it really. It was a simple read that I didn’t have to think much on and I sometimes like that so I can give my mind a break.
So that’s it. I just wanted to make these mini-reviews also to keep track of the books that I read as I still have plenty lined up. I think I’m going with The Vampire Academy series next.
