The K-beauty scene is hot this summer! Products are launching with new ingredients and technologies – these are fun times for makeup and skincare lovers all around. Making the latest extra hot is the Althea A’bloom collection.
You guys know how much I love (and shop at) Althea Korea. They’ve consistently stepped up their game with their own products and the A’bloom collection continues that upward trend. This latest launch features fun packaging, affordable pricing, and the cutest puffs you’ve ever seen!
Let’s get to know them one by one:
Althea A’Bloom Meringue Puffs
Are these not the cutest puffs?? They look so much like real meringue that you can’t help but want to eat them. The Althea A’Bloom Meringue Puffs are made from “high density non-toxic & latex free foam” which will expand “1.5 times the original size.” They can be used wet or dry depending on your usage requirement. A tip from Althea Korea – use the puff damp for a “glossy, moisturized finish” or dry for that “perfectly matte” complexion.
I love how they tested these to be free of 5 heavy metals – Lead Pb/Mercury Hg/Chrome VI cr VI/Cadmium Cd/Antimony Sb. I’ve been extra conscious of the products and tools that I use ever since I got pregnant and given birth so these details matter to me. The Puffs come in two sizes: the Giant Meringue Puffs (P100/pc at 48*46mm size) and the Baby Meringue Puffs (P140/3pcs at 30*28mm size per puff). Althea recommends to replace the Puffs after around 3 months of use which may seem costly but their pricing makes it easy to do so. We certainly want our beauty tools to be as hygienic as possible as poor hygiene is part of the causes of skin issues.
Althea A’Bloom BHA Blackhead Blaster
This next product is a handy one – an easy to carry, easy to use blackhead remover! I especially need this around my nose area so finding that effective exfoliator makes all the difference to my skin.
The Althea A’Bloom BHA Blackhead Blaster (P200/8g) claims to be the “first natural BHA stick” that passed a “clinically approved non-irritation test.” The natural BHA they’re referring to is the White Willow Bark Extract. They use this ingredient for chemical exfoliation while Apricot Seed Powder is used for manual exfoliation. There’s also Charcoal for detoxification and sebum control as well as Tea Tree Leaf Oil to soothe irritation and redness. I love how they disclose all ingredients (this is standard protocol after all) which makes it easy for me to research further as I need to be careful with certain ingredients that may affect my baby since I’m breastfeeding.
I’ve used the BHA Blackhead Blaster and I like how it instantly shows its effect – my nose feels and looks smoother. I don’t use it everyday though as my skin is extra dry these days but I do find this applies gently so it may just depend on your skin type. I am yet to use it on my elbows and heels which is another of Althea’s handy tips but I’m pretty sure it will be effective in those areas as well. Plus points for the portable size which makes it easy to tote around when we travel (or go straight from house to house lately because of baby).

Who doesn’t love a good sheet mask? Especially one priced at just 20 pesos?? That’s a pretty amazing deal. They even have a promo price of P180 for 10 sheets which make the Althea A’Bloom Sheet Masks really exciting for skincare lovers and those daily mask users. I’m sure my Mom would love these masks and I’m definitely gifting her some.

This is probably my second favorite out of the four as moisturizing my dry skin is key to my routine. I also love how fun the graphics are and the generous essence makes the price more than worth it – extra essence for extra moisturization is more than welcome in my book.

Of course I have to have a favorite and this is it! I love brightening products especially lately as I don’t have that much time to apply layers of base products. And while I am yet to see a significant effect on my skin (I feel like I need to order a few more sets of the 10-pack one which are hopefully not yet sold out as these best-selling masks keep selling out), I like my initial impression of the mask.
