When Huawei came out with the first ever Leica co-engineered smartphone last year, I jumped on the bandwagon, got myself a Huawei P9 Plus, and proudly took #OO photos everywhere. But as with every technophile eagerly awaiting the newest release every year, I wondered, how in the world will the Chinese company make the Huawei P10 an overall better smartphone than its predecessor? Pretty simple, apparently.
The Huawei P10 took everything we loved about the extremely effective P9 and infused their newest flagship with all the style and substance you could ever want, give or take a few features.
The Huawei x Leica Legacy Continues
What made the P9 an overall success was Huawei’s groundbreaking partnership with the luxury photography brand, Leica. They continued this partnership with the Huawei Mate 9 but where the Mate 9 was all business and function, the Huawei P10 is all style and substance.
“Make Every Shot a Cover Shot” is the new #OO flagship’s official tagline. Because in the Huawei P10, both rear and front cameras are now co-engineered with Leica. The beloved bokeh can now be applied to selfies and monochrome shots are more stunning than ever based on their test photos. Huawei P10 even partnered with Vogue “to reproduce eight iconic cover photos from the past – captured using the new HUAWEI P10 smartphone – to form part of the “Coming into Fashion: A Century of Photography at Condé Nast” exhibition on display at the Ullens Center for Contemporary Art (UCCA) in Beijing. The HUAWEI P10’s studio-like camera facilities allowed globally-renowned fashion photographer, Jumbo Tsui, to recreate the images with the phone.”
Color is The New Black: The Pantone Partnership
Building on their tradition of stellar partnerships, Huawei teamed up with color authority, Pantone. The P10 comes in exclusive Pantone colors, Dazzling Blue and 2017’s Color of the Year, Greenery.
The two Pantone shades join the other six colors in the P10 series: Ceramic White, Graphite Black, Dazzling Gold, Rose Gold, Prestige Gold, and Mystic Silver.
The P10 also comes in a variety of textures and finishes depending on the color variant.
Your Latest Fashion Accessory: Huawei P10 + Ricostru
Huawei takes the P10 aesthetic even further with customized themes and a wide range of accessories. There’s plenty to choose from for a truly personalized smartphone experience.
“Also involved in creating exclusive accessories is the talent behind fashion brand Ricostru, Rico Manchit Au. The partnership with Ricostru brings a new aesthetic to technology design, fusing Huawei’s engineering excellence with the futuristic spirit of the Ricostru label. The sharp tailoring, innovative craftsmanship and high-tech fabrics translate into smartphone accessories that are comfortable, clean and luxurious to the touch – elevating the beauty of Huawei’s smartphones.”
I even came across this little tidbit while obsessively searching for the P10 + Ricostru collection – “To ensure that your new Huawei smartphone never runs out of power in the most fashionable way possible, Ricostru also introduces a unique, fashionable bracelet that can quickly transform from a chic braided band, into a mobile phone charging cable. Coupled with the handset’s new super-fast charging feature, smart phone charging has never been more fashionable!” Source.
I hope Huawei Philippines gives us a chance to experience all these amazing accessory options.
