This week I’m starting a Weekly Makeup Stash thing in real life. I realized that ever since I transferred some of my “to finish or make a dent” makeup into one bag, I just kept using those products over and over again. Even the lipstick, which is crazy because I just had one in that bag plus my current go-to tinted lip balm which resides in my work bag. It started to get boring plus I felt sad for the rest of my makeup all stashed away in my vanity case and not getting their share of the limelight. I remember reading about this rotating your makeup stash thing in some beauty blogs so I thought I’d start to do the same. I’m hoping that this will ensure that I really use what I have and figure out which ones are definite keepers.
I’m still using the same base this week that I’ve been using for the past weeks which are the Avon Ideal Oil Control Pressed Powder in Neutral (trying to finish up this one as I still have two back-ups), my one and only MAC Studio Fix Concealer in NW25, and the Laura Mercier Translucent Loose Powder. I didn’t include them in the photos anymore as I focused on the color part of this week’s stash. It’s really fun guys! I feel like I’m curating my own makeup collection. 😀
To set up the”color story”, I started with these two Clinique GWP Palettes that I really wanted to use. I honestly don’t wear eye shadows on a daily basis so this week is going to require a bit of extra effort. These are mostly neutral and safe colors though the quad appears cool-toned IRL.
I included this MAC Eye Shadow in Matte Charcoal Brown as I’ve had it for years and it’s a real workhorse that I use for both my eyes and brows. I want to use it up already so I can customize a MAC quad. I’m sure that will be fun as well!
Then I added color for the cheeks and I went for my single blushes instead of my go-to palettes. This week’s stars include MAC Pinkerpeach & Trust Fund (I can also use Trust Fund for the eyes, yay!), Bourjois Rose Frisson (a cool-toned shimmery pink to go with the cool-toned Clinique shadows), and MAC x Proenza Schouler Ocean City (coz I really have to start making a dent in this one!).
Finally, the lipsticks! I still included NARS Audacious Jane as I’m just starting to get the feel for it and I know that if I hide it away again, I might forget about it. Then I chose the Laura Mercier Peche for my neutral/nude lip this week and the Givenchy Hibiscus Exclusif for that extra pop of color. I did not include a red this week because it felt a bit off with the color palette so maybe next week.
I’ll try to post some of the looks I’ll hopefully be able to create for this Weekly Makeup Stash but no promises! Till tomorrow guys, hope you had a fun weekend!
